We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. The successful candidate will provide direct care services to patients with mental health and/or intellectual developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a physically and emotionally safe environment for patients.
- Assist with basic patient care and observe patient progress.
- Provide behavioral emergency assistance and report any concerning behaviors.
- Monitor and document patient behavior.
- Perform delegated nursing tasks as needed.
- Follow Standard Precautions and Infection Control Procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- 1 year of direct care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Techniques.
- Ability to coordinate patient care with the treatment team.
