Position Responsibilities:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic will perform essential life support tasks in accordance with state and local protocols. Operating under the guidance of a physician, the EMT will adhere to local standard operating procedures and report directly to the Field Supervisor.

Qualifications Required:
  • Valid Basic EMT license from the State of Michigan.
  • Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
  • Valid Michigan motor vehicle operator's license with a clean driving record.
Core Duties:
  • Administer basic life support to patients across various environments, following established protocols.
  • Deliver clear and accurate verbal reports to medical personnel.
  • Drive Pro-Med vehicles safely and professionally, prioritizing patient needs during transport.
  • Maintain communication with Dispatch via radio or telephone.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct inventory checks of supplies and vehicle readiness at each shift change using Pro-Med's checklist.
  • Inspect vehicles to ensure operational safety (e.g., brakes, lights, fluids).
  • Perform all responsibilities with safety, courtesy, confidentiality, and professionalism, always considering patient welfare.
  • Conduct medical examinations and screenings in line with Medical Control Authority protocols.
  • Utilize safety and personal protective equipment as mandated by law and company policies.
