Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our team at the University of Southern California (USC). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the finance functions of Keck Medical Center, including financial reporting, operating and capital budgeting, audits and internal controls, cash flow management and purchasing, revenue cycle, debt attributed to Keck Hospital, funds flows from Keck Hospital to the Health System, strategic business planning, decision support, performance benchmarking, and predictive analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and improve financial performance
  • Lead the finance team in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the CEO and executive leadership team
  • Oversee the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Manage the daily activities of the Associate Administrator of KMC Finance and associated financial analyst
  • Serve as a financial management and accounting subject-matter expert and advisor to the Keck Hospital CEO and the Health System CFO
Requirements
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Administration, Public Administration or related field
  • Requires Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Administration, Public Administration or related field
  • Requires 10 years of progressive financial healthcare management experience (5 years at a senior/executive level)
  • Requires leadership experience at multi-hospital systems (with preference for academic health systems)
  • Requires direct experience with physician group practices and faculty practice plans
  • Requires a reputation for collaboration, emotional intelligence, and ability to function in highly matrixed environments
  • Requires proven ability to manage people and create professional development plans
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Active and current Certified Public Accountancy (CPA)
Working Conditions

The annual base salary range for this position is $436,691. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
