Job Summary

This is a clinic-based role within the healthcare industry.

The primary objective of a Certified Nursing Assistant is to provide patients with the highest level of healthcare possible. They are typically responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a supervisor, physician, or advanced practice provider. The CNA will work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with all patients, other guests, physicians, and staff.
  • Creates a patient-centered work environment where everyone is accountable to a superior patient experience, participates in improvement activities, and ensures service recovery.
  • Performs patient rooming, including interviewing patients, completing medication reconciliation, taking and measuring vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Operates an electrocardiograph (EKG) and may perform other tests when trained.
  • Takes phone and portal messages from patients with appropriate information for the provider and returns messages under supervision/direction of the provider.
  • Schedules appointments, performs secretarial tasks, and completes forms appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Completed state-approved CNA program.
  • State/NLNAC certification is required.
  • 1-2 years of direct healthcare experience of similar scope.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
