Interim Director of Nursing

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team during this transitional period. The ideal candidate will oversee the nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide effective leadership and direction to all nursing staff, fostering a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
2. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established standards and best practices, monitoring patient outcomes and implementing strategies to improve nursing care quality and efficiency.
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations affecting nursing practice, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
4. Review and develop nursing policies and procedures to enhance performance and quality of care, ensuring effective communication and implementation among nursing staff.
5. Assist in managing the nursing department's budget, including personnel and operational expenses, and oversee allocation of resources to ensure optimal staffing and equipment availability.
6. Work closely with the administrative team and other departments to ensure cohesive operation and patient care services, serving as a liaison between nursing staff and management.
7. Promote ongoing education and training opportunities for nursing staff, mentoring and supporting their professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in [Insert State].
