About the Role

As a physician assistant in the skilled nursing facility setting, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or in need of rehabilitation. You will experience an interdisciplinary collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals. This collaborative environment can enhance patient care by incorporating different perspectives and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform primary care weekend rounding in a post-acute setting for short-term and long-term patients
  • Manage chronic disease, diagnose illnesses and medical conditions, and implement a plan of care
  • Order and interpret lab results
  • Prescribe and monitor medications
  • Consult with physicians and coordinate patient care with other healthcare practitioners
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on coping skills to handle chronic and age-related conditions
  • Build relationships with your patients, patients' family members, and facility staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery
  • Promote healthy lifestyle changes
Requirements
  • New grads encouraged to apply
  • Primary care and post-acute care experience a plus, but not required
  • Active and unrestricted Washington NP or PA license required
  • Active and unrestricted Washington DEA with prescriptive authority required
Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation is a productivity-based model (Fee for Service) that offers you control to maximize your income potential. Expected compensation is estimated salary range of $60,000 to $86,000 annually with no cap productivity income potential. This part-time role is not benefit eligible.
