Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at UF Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take patients' vital signs and prepare them for examinations or treatments.
  • Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments under the supervision of a licensed physician.
  • Perform venipunctures, administer routine medications, and collect laboratory specimens as directed.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently, including signatures, dates, and times.
  • Administer medications as directed by and under the supervision of a licensed physician.
  • Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms, and provide basic first aid when necessary.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects and contribute to the coordination of patient care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and other customers, demonstrating a standard of excellence in communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate preferred at time of hire.
  • 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred, with 2 years of clerical/customer service experience in a healthcare-related industry also preferred.
