ED Technician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ED Technician to join our team at Steward Health Care. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

• Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, vital signs, and patient care under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and exams, including specimen collection and visual acuity testing.
• Complete daily department stocking and checklists as assigned by the Lead ED Technician or Charge Nurse.
• Respond quickly and courteously to call lights and patient and family requests.
• Obtain and document vital signs on all patients before they are triaged.
• Assist patients who need assistance with transport from the parking area.
• Provide comfort measures for patients in the waiting area.
• Act as a liaison between patients and families, triage nurse, clinical staff, and security.

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• CNA, EMT, or graduate of Medical Assistant program.
• BCLS required.
• Demonstrates clinical competency within the scope of practice of applicable certification.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate at the high school level.
