We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician II to join our team at Lower Bucks Hospital. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients of all ages for analysis in the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients for the purpose of obtaining a blood specimen for analysis.
- Process microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank specimens.
- Stock and order routine supplies, and maintain the cleanliness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and work areas.
- Process or load specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation in accordance with established policy and procedures.
- May assist with picking up samples at the hospital or OR, assisting lab specialty in sorting out samples for analysis, and putting away samples.
- May work in multiple departments for the graveyard shift.
- May perform point of care testing after training and documented competency.
- Resolving staffing issues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current, required.
- Minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
