Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Cranford School District. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in supporting and improving a child's ability to participate as successfully and fully in their school environment. You will utilize occupation therapy methods and methodologies to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Available during regular school hours at assigned sites and for required meetings within the parameters of the scheduled workday.
- Utilize the educational model of service versus the medical model of service in regards to the development and maintenance of a student's therapy program.
- Communicate effectively with educational staff, CSH School Services staff, parents, students, and other necessary entities.
- Participate in IEP and other school meetings as appropriate.
- Collaborate with school personnel to formulate a specialized transdisciplinary plan for students.
- Provide instruction, training, supervision, and monitoring of school personnel in the use of prescribed therapeutic plans, techniques, or modalities.
- Carry out assessment, reassessment, and evaluation procedures for referred students, meeting district and CSH School Services requirements and timelines.
- Plan, develop, and implement therapeutic interventions that are goal-oriented and educationally relevant.
- Complete all necessary documentation, databases, schedules, and billing logs in accordance with CSH School Services department policy and assigned district/school's policy.
- Maintain and be accountable for therapy inventory and equipment.
- Complete all assigned mandatory education requirements within stated timeframes.
- May supervise clinical fieldwork students in conjunction with the Fieldwork Coordinator, according to stated student program objectives.
- Support efforts to accomplish the goals of Children's Specialized Hospital's School Services, adhering to the noncompete policies of the organization.
