Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced software tools, such as STAAD Pro, to conduct structural analysis and determine foundation loads for substation structures.
  • Design robust support structures and equipment adapters based on electrical arrangement specifications.
  • Employ site data and calculated foundation loads, using software like STAAD Pro Foundations, M-CAD, or LPile, to create necessary foundations (piers, slabs, etc.) for projects.
  • Collaborate with electrical designers to outline structural scopes and provide accurate estimates based on one-line diagrams and electrical layouts.
  • Review structural design documents and fabricator details to ensure adherence to design principles, material specifications, and relevant structural codes.
  • Propose enhancements for structural designs and documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers and designers to validate project timelines and ensure timely steel delivery.
  • Generate material requisitions and liaise with fabricators to confirm lead times and costs, ensuring the correct materials are ordered in alignment with project schedules.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to address field construction challenges and assess structural practices.
  • Provide expert guidance on design and detail inquiries from electrical designers, fabricators, and construction teams.
  • Work in tandem with electrical designers and structural team members to complete project submittals on schedule.
  • Act as a project lead for substation initiatives, facilitating and coordinating the efforts of team members to achieve project goals.
  • Offer mentorship and training to junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
  • Identify and implement corrective measures when project objectives are not being met.
  • Interpret relevant codes and regulations, establishing standards for construction projects.
  • Champion engineering professionalism and uphold industry standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans that encompass scheduling, resource allocation, and ongoing project information for complex engineering tasks.
