Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Certified Surgical Technologist CVOR to provide technical support to patients of all populations. Responsibilities
  • Assist the circulating nurse in setting up the room, ensuring the presence and proper functioning of all necessary equipment and instruments.
  • Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts, readies sutures, and passes all instruments, equipment, sponges, medications, etc. to surgeons and assistants as needed and/or requested.
  • Pass specimen from the surgeon to the circulating nurse. Responsible for specimen while on the field.
  • Perform related duties, including but not limited to: assist in cleaning and stocking, picking cases for the next day, housekeeping duties, and attending staff meetings. Directly involved in room turnover between cases.
  • Work as a collaborative member of the OR team, demonstrating the ability to adjust to different situations at any given time. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team on the field. Takes direction from the circulating nurse.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Surgical Technician Course.
  • Must hold a current Surgical Technologist Certification and License through the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Two years of OR scrubbing experience, preferably in CVOR, is preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
