Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and comprehensive medical histories.
  • Independently diagnose and treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with the clinical director for complex cases requiring specialized expertise.
  • Effectively manage chronic health conditions and provide ongoing care to patients.
  • Prescribe medications as authorized, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Administer immunizations and perform other essential medical procedures.
  • Offer counseling and guidance to patients on various health topics, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, electrocardiograms, and other diagnostic tools as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
  • Current DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience providing healthcare within correctional settings is highly preferred.
