About the Role

We are seeking an Environmental Service Worker II to join our team at Kettering Health Dayton. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform cleaning functions for designated work areas, including floors, surfaces, and equipment
  • Document daily assignments and tasks
  • Be flexible and adapt to changes in schedule and staff shortages
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly and report any equipment issues
  • Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
  • Record keeping and equipment storage
  • Handle regular and hazardous waste, including operating waste processing equipment
  • Clean sterile areas, such as operating rooms, sterile processing, and MRI
  • Deliver supplies to designated locations
  • Operate laundry equipment and change curtains
  • Perform various utility duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 1 year of housekeeping and/or service-related experience
  • Floor care experience
  • Able to lift/push/pull 10lbs to 25lbs daily
  • Demonstrate high-level customer service towards staff and patients
  • Knowledge of electronic devices (computer, tablets, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand written instructions in English
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Must have the ability to plan, initiate responsibilities, and follow through with minimal direction
  • Strong communication skills, attitude, and attendance
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
