Operating Room Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Central Maine Medical Center. As an Operating Room Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Obtain thorough nursing histories, perform detailed assessments, and develop personalized plans of care for patients across the pediatric to geriatric age spectrum.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of care and exceptional patient experiences.
Assume responsibility for managing individualized direct patient care, prioritizing tasks, and responding promptly to changing situations.
Perform head-to-toe assessments, reassessments, and update patient plans as needed, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Demonstrate time-conscious awareness, effective prioritization skills, and adaptability in high-acuity environments.
Demonstrate expertise in medication administration, following established protocols and reducing the potential for medication errors.
Work effectively with physicians to assist with procedures, start peripheral IVs, and provide post-surgical care.
Treat patients and their families with respect, dignity, and empathy, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
Maintain accurate documentation, follow hospital standards, and prioritize safety in all aspects of patient care.
Stay up-to-date on performance improvement initiatives, CQI activities, and continue education in areas relevant to your practice.
Interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
A graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Registered Nurse License in the state of Maine is required. A BSN degree is preferred. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is necessary. Critical Care/ED experience is beneficial, particularly with ACLS and PALS certifications. TNCC and bilingual capabilities are also advantageous. One year of nursing experience and strong teamwork skills are highly valued.
Compensation and Benefits:
As a member of our team, you can expect an estimated salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
