Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team at Pep Boys. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and diagnose vehicle problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Perform repairs and maintenance services to specifications, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling system, suspension, and alignment
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and colleagues in a clear and concise manner
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing automotive technology
  • Train and mentor colleagues to ensure a high level of technical expertise across the team
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience
  • Section 609 Certification preferred
  • State Inspection license if applicable
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or by using telecommunications equipment
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20.00 to $23.00, with a guaranteed rate of $17.00 per hour. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
