About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Hydro Power Generation Specialist to join our team at Gannett Fleming. As a key member of our power engineering services team, you will play a critical role in supporting and implementing our electrical engineering design and analysis services for power generating plants, substations, industrial facilities, and auxiliary support systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis: Create complex electrical engineering deliverables, including schematics, one-line diagrams, meter and relay diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, demolition drawings, and arrangement diagrams.
  • Protective and Control Systems: Implement protective and control systems, develop bills of materials, circuit schedules, conduit schedules, and complete work accurately and efficiently.
  • Research and Recommendation: Perform complex research and recommend equipment and/or materials selection, collect and manage data for engineering work.
  • Engineering Calculations: Prepare engineering calculations, including cable sizing, breaker sizing, voltage drop, load flow, and short circuit analysis.
  • Project Leadership: Determine client interests and requirements, partner with clients, and provide project leadership to ensure client specifications and project objectives are incorporated into work products.
  • Team Collaboration: Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members, initiate contact with other engineering disciplines as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering focus preferred) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of increasing responsibility in design experience, current PE in California or ability to obtain PE in California within twelve months.
  • Skills: Problem-solving skills, detail-focused, results-driven, quality decision-making, strong listening skills, and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Etap, Easypower, SKM, CDEGS is a plus.
