Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Specialist III to join our team at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of daily maintenance tasks, as well as performing routine servicing on various equipment to ensure optimal operation and extended lifespan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and install physical plant equipment in accordance with industry guidelines.
  • Routine Servicing: Perform routine servicing on chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, motors, and valves to ensure proper operation and extended operating life.
Additional Duties
  • Backup Support: Serve as a backup for the Engineer III to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor, initiate changes, and/or adjustments, and identify operating abnormalities of equipment through the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Programming and Scheduling: Program lights, start/stop air handlers, chillers, boilers, pumps, and exhaust fans, and monitor space temperature to ensure operational efficiency.
Record Keeping and Communication
  • Log Book Maintenance: Record observed readings on equipment and completion of assigned daily and shift maintenance tasks in the Engineer's log book.
  • Equipment Failure Response: React correctly and promptly to all equipment failures/abnormalities by logging data, restoring equipment to normal operation, and notifying the Chief Engineer of equipment needing repair or replacement.
Collaboration and Compliance
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Interface all equipment repairs in harmony with other internal functional departments as required, minimizing disruption and maximizing effectiveness.
  • Vendor and Contractor Support: Assist vendors and contractors as required in completing their contractual obligations in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with established inventory, equipment distribution, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures to ensure the efficient, effective, and safe operation of the plant.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess strong knowledge of hand tool, diagnostic equipment, and power tool use.
