Telecommunicator

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunicator to join our team at Gaston County Police Department. As a Telecommunicator, you will be responsible for receiving and processing emergency calls, dispatching police and emergency medical services personnel, and operating various communication systems.

• Receive and evaluate emergency calls from the public
• Dispatch police and emergency medical services personnel
• Operate radios, telephones, and computer terminals to receive and transmit information
• Complete various forms and reports as required

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a US citizen
• Must meet the requirements set forth by the Department of Criminal Information for certification

• Competitive salary range of $38,147.20 - $64,854.40 annually
