Position Overview: The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver exceptional clinical oversight across various facets of the position for pre-master's students, post-master's associate-level providers, and Doctoral Practicum students within the Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine sectors. Depending on the requirements of the area, this role may also involve supervising licensed providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality clinical supervision in accordance with California Board standards, addressing all aspects of the supervisee's responsibilities, including clinical documentation, treatment planning, and crisis management protocols.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for interns and students, collaborating with treatment teams and educational liaisons to provide training and orientation.
- Oversee the training and development of Associates, Psychological Assistants, and licensed therapists, ensuring adherence to disciplinary procedures and corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive performance evaluations for supervisees in a timely manner.
- Provide training in key therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices, encompassing individual, family, couples, and group therapy.
- Address and resolve service-related concerns in collaboration with other personnel and physicians.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures to align with organizational goals related to supervisees.
- Work closely with academic liaisons to fulfill all necessary documentation and requirements for field placements.
- Utilize outcome measures to mentor supervisees in delivering high-quality clinical outcomes for patients.
- Design and implement clinical programs tailored to the needs of supervisees and the broader mental health continuum of care.
- Collaborate with the Regional Mental Health Training Program team for student placements.
- Engage with academic liaisons for the efficient onboarding of students and interns.
- May develop policies and systems to enhance patient satisfaction and access.
- Optimize resources in collaboration with department leadership to manage costs effectively.
- Analyze departmental workload indicators to enhance utilization and productivity of supervisees.
- May provide direct psychotherapeutic services to individuals or groups.
- May conduct psychological assessments, including test administration and interpretation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of professional experience under the supervision of a licensed psychologist or board-certified psychiatrist.
Education:
- Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
- California Psychologist License.
- National Provider Identifier.
Additional Requirements:
- Must meet the qualifications for clinical supervision as per California Board regulations and maintain current credentials.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong skills in feedback-informed care and patient engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of state regulations regarding supervision agreements, ethics, and patient rights.
- Completion of any required supervision training mandated by the Board.
- Familiarity with psychotherapeutic treatment modalities and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
