Labor and Delivery Nurse

The Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will work collaboratively with the patient, their family, and other members of the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate treatment plans and the plan of care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate treatment plans and the plan of care
- Collaborate with the patient, their family, and other members of the healthcare team
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor and report patient progress
- Provide education to patients and their families
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Texas or Compact State Nursing License – RN required
- BCLS Certification
- NRP Certification (Chapters 1-9) within 3 months of hire or immediately with Newborn, Labor and Delivery/Antepartum experience
- ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire or immediately if required at previous employer
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring through AWHONN within 6 months from finish of floor orientation
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Nursing Program preferred
- Perinatal and neonatal healthcare experience preferred
- S.T.A.B.L.E. course certification within 6 months of hire preferred
- Lactation Educator or Consultant preferred
- AWHONN member
