Job Summary:

The Recreation Services Aide will provide administrative support to the recreation team, including greeting clients and visitors, providing information and assistance, and handling fee payments and program registrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the facility for daily operations and closing
  • Greet customers in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Provide information and assistance to customers and potential customers regarding recreation programs, parks, and facilities
  • Answer and route phone calls, provide requested information, and direct customers to appropriate resources and staff members
  • Enter accurate information into Active.Net software system
  • Become thoroughly familiar with department programs, schedules, and services
  • Maintain familiarity with the department website and web-based registration systems
  • Accept and document payments, handle cash, balance a cash drawer, and complete financial reports and deposits
  • Observe safe working practices and report unauthorized individuals and potential security problems
  • Perform drafting, copying, collating, and filing of documents
  • Prepare reports, maintain data in spreadsheets, and keep basic records
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in recreation or a service-oriented job setting that involved handling money
  • Available to work at least 20 hours per week
  • Experience in customer service
  • Comfortable working with people of all ages, with disabilities, and from different cultural groups
