**Job Description**
As a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support in daily living activities. You'll assist individuals with their personal goals, support their participation in community activities, and encourage independence and self-advocacy. This role is integral to creating a positive and inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals.
**Responsibilities**
- Personalized Support: Assist individuals with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks.
- Goal-Oriented Support: Support individuals in achieving personal goals and encourage their participation in community events and activities.
- Medication Administration and Health Records: Administer medications according to training and maintain accurate health and behavioral records.
- Safety and Wellbeing: Foster a safe, clean, and respectful environment in the home or community settings.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with team members, families, and external providers to ensure high-quality, person-centered support. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
**Requirements**
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent; previous experience in caregiving, social work, or a related field is preferred but not required; training is provided.
- Skills and Qualities: Compassionate, patient, and committed to advocating for individuals with disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Transportation and Safety: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and eligibility to become a company driver. Ability to pass a background check.
- Physical Demands: Capable of performing physical tasks required for the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
