We are seeking a highly skilled Transport RT Specialist to join our Pediatric Critical Care Transport team at Children's Mercy KC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care through assessment, intervention, and stabilization for critically ill transport patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care through assessment, intervention, and stabilization for critically ill transport patients.
  • Promotes a positive relationship with referring/accepting healthcare providers and serves as a clinical resource for education and consultation needs of the healthcare team.
  • Promotes safe, efficient, family-centered care to transport patients.
  • Promotes a continuation of patient care through documentation.
  • Participates in performance improvement and professional development activities.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of critical care experience, including at least one year of pediatric and/or neonatal critical care.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (MO) and Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required 90 days.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required 90 days.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required 90 days.
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population determined by Nurse Manager/Director required 1 year.
