Medication Technician Job Description

At ProMedica Health System, we are seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by assisting with prescribed medications and treatments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with prescribed medications and treatments, as defined by state regulations, to residents and maintain related work records under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Act as a Resident Caregiver, assisting residents in all aspects of their daily life as indicated in the resident service plan, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs.
  • Provide exceptional care and support to residents, ensuring their satisfaction and well-being.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must successfully complete the required training program.
  • Ability to read thermometers, charts, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to operate clothes washers and dryers and kitchen appliances.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly required.
  • Previous experience working with dementia preferred.
