Arcosa Marine is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Specialist to join our team in Ashland City, TN. As a key member of our safety and health team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor work practices and safety equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of the production area to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Act as the plant Safety Representative, detecting and reporting any issues concerning the safety and welfare of employees.
- Prepare and maintain records of occupational injuries and illnesses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Administer first aid to employees as needed and provide support during workplace emergencies.
- Audit plant shop areas and implement actions to correct hazardous situations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company regulations.
- Ensure continued adherence to safety rules and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
- Support investigations into employee complaints about unsafe working conditions and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Audit and maintain safety records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare reports in compliance with regulatory requirements, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of related experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
- Knowledge of general office practices and ability to maintain accurate, organized records.
- Ability to operate commonly used office equipment, including personal computers and Microsoft applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with plant personnel.
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed.
