Clinical Technician - Emergency Services


St. John's Hospital Camarillo



We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Clinical Technician, you will provide support to healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring the smooth operation of medical equipment and assisting in patient care.


Responsibilities
  • Perform crutch fitting and demonstrate competency in applying arm slings for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Therapeutically bandage arms and legs with ace bandages, demonstrating competency in this skill.
  • Perform EKGs, ordering and documenting them accurately, and demonstrate competency in phlebotomy according to hospital standards.
  • Order lab work, respiratory orders, and EKGs via the patient care system, ensuring successful and accurate completion.
  • Conduct daily stockroom supply checks to ensure adequate stock for patient care.
  • Partner with nursing, medical, and respiratory staff to assist in patient procedures, such as gastric lavage and stabilizing extremities for suturing.
  • Greet patients upon arrival, record their time of arrival, name, and general complaint on the log sheet.
  • Assist patients into wheelchairs if necessary and help control traffic for patients and families entering the main ER doors.
  • Alert housekeeping if the waiting room needs cleaning.

Qualifications
  • Current AHA BLS Certification (CT CPRBLS)
  • Current Phlebotomist Certification (CT CPT)
  • Six (6) months recent hospital experience as a CNA, CT, or EMT.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a Clinical Technician Program or related work experience.

Special Skills:

  • Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Operating common office equipment, including computers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.

This position is represented by SEIU LocalUHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
