Gorbel is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for analyzing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and spearheading projects to drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive Continuous Improvement: Utilize problem-solving skills and tools to drive continuous improvement and optimize procurement processes.
- Travel and Collaboration: Travel to suppliers and company facilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive project success.
- Exception Identification: Proactively identify parts that require expedited delivery and take corrective action to ensure timely receipt.
- Invoice Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure accurate payment and minimize delays.
- Non-Conforming Material Reports: Process NCMR's in a timely manner to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Engineering Inquiries: Initiate engineering inquiries and submit formal ECN requests as necessary to drive design improvements.
- Blanket Purchase Orders: Analyze, set up, maintain, and distribute new BPO's to optimize procurement processes.
- Inventory Optimization: Conduct analysis to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce costs.
- Forecasting: Provide forecast data to key suppliers to support deliveries within required lead times.
- Supplier Price Quotations: Initiate, review, and analyze supplier price quotations to ensure optimal pricing and terms.
- Early Payment Discounts: Work with Finance to take advantage of early payment discounts and optimize cash flow.
- Supplier Performance Feedback: Provide regular performance feedback to assigned suppliers and ensure close-out of corrective action requests.
- Escalated Issues: Resolve escalated issues between Gorbel and suppliers to ensure timely resolution and minimize disruptions.
- Technical Commodity Skills: Possess relevant technical commodity skills to be seen as credible by peers and managers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional make vs. buy decisions and provide recommendations to drive business success.
- Key Commodity Strategy Initiatives: Inform, convince, and persuade others to action on key commodity strategy initiatives and objectives.
- Special Projects: Support special projects related to product launches and other supply chain initiatives to drive business growth.
- Annual Cost Improvement: Achieve excellent results in annual cost improvement, supplier quality/delivery, supplier lead times/minimum order quantities, supplier consolidation, and contract coverage with minimal supervision.
- Education: College degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Suite Business Acumen: Strong Microsoft suite business acumen and experience with lean/continuous improvement tools and programs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and independent judgment with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Supply Chain Experience: Prior supply chain (purchasing, buying, planning, materials) experience preferred.
- ERP Experience: ERP experience required.
