Job Summary: We are seeking a Part-time Cashier to join our team at Great Lakes Ace Hardware. As a Part-time Cashier, you will be responsible for maintaining a good company image and promoting our goodwill through your attitude, appearance, and concern for the profitability of the entire store.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate cash register by scanning all merchandise, engaging customers through suggestive selling, and thanking them for shopping at Great Lakes Ace Hardware.
• Process refunds and/or issue in-store merchandise credit to customers for returned merchandise.
• Use loss prevention techniques to reduce shortages and prevent shoplifting.
• Follow Great Lakes Ace Hardware policies and procedures for all transactions.
• Engage customers to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member and actively seek participation from them.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Assist and/or make recommendations to customers in the service areas within the store, including chain, rope, key, and glass cutting, screen repair, and knife sharpening.
• Follow the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness of assigned work areas.
• Refer customer complaints to the proper person for resolution.

Requirements:
• Be at least 16 years of age and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers or associates of the organization.
• Ability to understand and respond to verbal instructions or questions.

Compensation:
• $12.00 per hour
