REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

Cullman Regional Medical Center is a well-established healthcare facility that provides comprehensive medical services to a large community. Our institution is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our patients through exceptional care and advanced medical practices.

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care within their designated unit. The nurse's performance is guided by the core values and mission of both the medical center and the Nursing Department. The RN is expected to uphold the standards of nursing practice to effectively address the healthcare needs of patients, their families, and the broader community.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse coordinates the care plan for assigned patients. The RN is encouraged to engage in performance improvement initiatives as required. Key responsibilities include adhering to regulatory standards, following hospital policies, managing medical supplies, fostering teamwork among healthcare professionals, ensuring patient satisfaction, and utilizing resources efficiently. The Registered Nurse will work closely with the Nurse Manager to meet budgetary goals and enhance patient care metrics.

Patient Assessment/Documentation - The RN is responsible for providing and documenting patient care in accordance with the nursing process and hospital guidelines. This includes planning, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients while utilizing assessment skills to identify nursing diagnoses and clinical issues based on patient evaluations and age-specific requirements.

Patient Rights - The Registered Nurse is dedicated to supporting and safeguarding the rights of every patient, treating them with respect and dignity, and ensuring confidentiality. Patient Safety - The RN demonstrates a strong commitment to patient safety initiatives, including fall prevention, medication management, adherence to National Patient Safety Goals, critical value reporting, and safe blood product administration. Patient/Family Education - The RN provides essential education to patients and their families in accordance with departmental and hospital policies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

A valid RN License in the state is required

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in Med/Surg units is preferred but not mandatory A minimum of one year of experience is preferred in areas such as CCU, ER, Float Pool, Maternity/Nursery, OR, or Wound Care.
