Position Overview
Shift: PRN (part-time), weekends only
Hours: 22 hours per week
This role involves conducting regular patrols on foot and by vehicle in areas associated with Indiana University Health properties. The Security Officer is responsible for responding to service requests and enforcing institutional policies and regulations.
The position includes providing guidance and support to staff, visitors, and patients, as well as assisting in de-escalating challenging situations. The officer will investigate incidents of criminal activity and traffic accidents as necessary, while also maintaining accurate records and completing required reports.
Additional responsibilities include performing security screenings and contributing to a safe healthcare environment for all stakeholders. Other duties may be assigned as needed by supervisory personnel.
QualificationsA High School Diploma or GED is mandatory, while an Associate's Degree is preferred. Candidates should possess 0-3 years of relevant experience and hold a valid, non-restricted Indiana Driver's License. Applicants must not have any felony convictions, domestic violence charges, or violent misdemeanor offenses.
Successful candidates will need to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation. A working knowledge of computers and various software applications is also required.
