Job DescriptionAt The Rockridge Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles and be proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word.Key Responsibilities:
  • Balance and maintain accurate general ledger using QuickBooks
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Process payroll and payroll tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
  • Reconcile cash and other subsidiary accounts on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving any discrepancies
  • Prepare and process accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing
  • Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Budget preparation and monitoring, analyzing variances and making recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including accrual vs. cash accounting
  • Knowledge of various industries, including retail, service, and construction
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word
  • Payroll processing and tax return preparation experience
  • Understanding of sales tax and use tax regulations, including prepayment and quarterly returns
  • Basic knowledge of fixed assets, loans, and budgeting
  • Organized and analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
