Job Summary

The California State Prison, Solano is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant Trainee to join our team. As an Accountant Trainee, you will be responsible for ensuring the completion of Inmate Trust Accounting/Cashier Office duties under the direct supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of Inmate Trust Accounting/Cashier Office duties
  • Perform various accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Provide support to the Senior Accounting Officer in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
