Essential Functions:
  1. Serve as a resource for staff and other disciplines.
  2. Strengthen interdisciplinary relationships with members of the healthcare team.
  3. Adhere to all policies and practices relative to patient care and hospital-related information.
  4. Improve knowledge, skills, and performance based on feedback or self-identified developmental needs.
  5. Utilize the nursing process in managing patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, implementation, evaluation, teaching, and discharge planning.
  6. Provide basic psychosocial support and counseling.
  7. Report and record changes observed in patient condition or behavior.
  8. Respond to emergent situations and initiate appropriate actions.
  9. Seek nursing, physician, or other healthcare team intervention as needed.
  10. Perform work in a timely and productive manner.
  11. Request assistance and review policies and procedures before performing new or challenging skills.
  12. Maintain contact availability for schedule changes and be flexible in scheduling to meet unit requirements.
  13. Maintain critical thinking skills and lead others in applying nursing standards.
  14. Function independently with one day orientation, unless otherwise specified.
  15. Maintain standards of nursing care and utilize standards as a guide for practice.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Associates or Bachelor's Degree
  • Required Skills:
    • Registered Nurse, KY, compact license, or provisional KY RN licenses allowed for 6 months after hire date
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS within 7 days of hire
    • NIHSS within 30 days of hire
    • Handle with Care within 30 days of hire
    • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Advanced Certification – Required within 6 months of hire or transfer
    • Demonstrated competence in professional nursing practice
    • Four (4) years of nursing experience in ICU or ED
    • Must be able to pass all required testing for Registered Nurses
    • The SRT RN must agree to be available to work 72 hours in a bi-weekly pay period, including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, and follow the scheduling requirements of the Central Kentucky LifePoint facility assigned
