Addictions Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addictions Counselor to join our team at the Addiction Treatment Center. As a member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will work under the supervision of a higher-level Addictions Counselor or Licensed Master Social Worker to provide high-quality care and counseling to clients.

• Provide individual and group therapy, as well as facilitate recreational, vocational, and social activities.
• Interview patients and review medical/psychiatric history to complete various assessments as part of treatment plan development.
• Monitor patient compliance with treatment goals and complete required patients and facility documentation.
• Provide orientation to patients regarding the nature of the treatment facility, including its programs, activities, policies, and rules.
• Provide Crisis Intervention and maintain relationships with vocational, educational, social services, probation, parole, referral agencies, and other community agencies associated with client rehabilitation.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain preauthorization and recurring reviews.
• Conduct routine rounds and document observations to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Transport patients using agency vehicles and participate in meal preparation and distribution.
• Communicate shift change information to facilitate smooth transition and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), CASAC Level 2, CASAC-Advanced Counselor, or CASAC-Master Counselor in New York State.
• Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
