Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all functions of the D Class Welder, including production welding on various size weldments using SAW process systems.
  • Receive work assignments, review work instructions, and secure drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Apply personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the work at hand.
  • Position weldments using material handling equipment and reposition as needed to complete all welding operations.
  • Set up fall protection equipment, scaffolding, and man lift systems as required.
  • Position welding heads and select correct welding parameters based on electrode type, shielding gas, flux, material thickness, and weld joint type.
  • Install run off tabs, flux retainers, and additional bracing as needed.
  • Apply FCAW root passes and stringer beads as required and complete other miscellaneous FCAW manual welding per plan.
  • Remove temporary run off tabs, flux retainers, bracing, and miscellaneous support equipment.
  • Clean and inspect weldments for proper size, appearance, and quality, making repairs as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills within a team structure.
  • Sub-arc welding experience is highly preferred, with prior 3/32 flux core welding experience being a major plus.
  • Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask and be flexible.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • May be required to work weekends, with the ability to do so being necessary.

Benefits:

  • Starting wage of $31.38 per hour.
  • Shift premium available for off-shift roles.
  • Vacation and personal time after 6 months of service.
  • Insurance coverage after 75 days of service.
