Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring women and their newborns, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient, taking into account their medical history, preferences, and cultural background.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying potential risks and complications, and taking proactive steps to mitigate them.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure clear understanding of care plans, progress, and any concerns or issues.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and safety of patient care, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee or a Compact State.
  • At least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
