Job Overview

The Cardiovascular Care Group is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to support our team of physicians in providing high-quality patient care. This role will involve working in a hospital setting, delivering pre-operative and post-operative care, and collaborating with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Admit patients requiring hospitalization and provide care in accordance with mutually agreed-upon practice protocols.
  • Deliver pre-operative and post-operative care to patients, including daily rounds and documentation in the patient record.
  • Provide intra-operative and post-operative support to physicians, including venipuncture, EKGs, and wound debridement.
  • Interview and examine patients, document in the patient record, and consult with patients on the wards and in the emergency room.
  • Place percutaneous central venous catheters and/or change over a guide wire, perform venipuncture, EKGs, A-line insertions, foley catheter insertions, and wound debridement.
  • Provide patient and family education, initiate and participate in discharge planning, and answer phone calls from hospital staff and physicians.
  • Participate in quality assurance and patient satisfaction programs, and maintain a professional and reliable demeanor in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of experience as a PA in a hospital setting, with vascular surgery experience a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, effective problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure and handle shifting priorities.
  • Deliver care in a professional and reliable manner, with excellent interpersonal skills and fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, with current certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and the NJ State Board on the Regulation of Physician Assistants.
  • BLS/ACLS certification and a valid PA license.
