Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain garages and related buildings and facilities in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.
  • Pick up debris, sweep, dust, scrub floors, walls, woodwork, etc.
  • Wash windows, signs, tables, sinks, lavatories, toilets, etc.
  • Empty trash containers and remove trash to disposal locations.
  • Clean and dust office furniture and related items.
  • Operate floor cleaning machines and use mops, pails, sponges, brushes, cleaning chemicals, window washing equipment, vacuum cleaners, and related materials and tools.
  • Remove ice and snow from stairways, walkways located in buildings and facilities.
  • Spread sand and salt as required by weather conditions.
  • Observe, detect, and report non-operating or malfunctioning equipment and apparatus, defects in heating, plumbing, electrical, and related systems and equipment.
  • Replenish supplies from stockroom.
  • Drive Authority equipment and service van to transport supplies to various work sites, if necessary.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid State of Illinois Driver's license and be capable of operating a vehicle.
  • Must perform the physical activities associated with this position.

Working Conditions:

  • Usual office and field working conditions.
  • Works in areas in which fumes, dust, and noise are present.
  • Subject to weather conditions when working outdoors.

Equipment, Tools, and Materials Utilized:

  • Variety of cleaning materials and equipment.
