Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Parents as Teachers Program Manager, the Program Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management of Parents as Teachers personnel, administrative tasks, project oversight, and compliance with grant requirements in a dynamic and often fast-paced setting. This role involves performing various management, administrative, and training duties, including coaching, mentoring, and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities:

The Program Operations Coordinator is responsible for the daily management of the Parents as Teachers programs in the designated counties. This includes:

  • Regular meetings with staff to review cases, establish objectives, and assess program performance.
  • Promoting program services to professionals, community organizations, and the general public.
  • Assisting the Program Manager in the preparation of reports, budget oversight, and compliance with data retention and grant requirements.

Staff Management:

This position supervises a dedicated team of Parents as Teachers staff who provide essential outreach, home visiting, and support services to families. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the entire caseload for the program, including assigning new cases and developing individualized service plans.
  • Monitoring staff performance and compliance with agency policies and program protocols.
  • Identifying areas for staff improvement and facilitating relevant training opportunities.

Community Engagement:

The Program Operations Coordinator will also engage with community groups and independent contractors to support program initiatives, ensuring effective negotiation of service scopes. This role requires collaboration with the Data Team to monitor caseload levels and ensure accurate and timely data entry.

Leadership and Training:

Providing leadership to resolve conflicts among staff and fostering a stimulating learning environment is essential. The Coordinator will work closely with staff, specialists, and consultants to deliver integrated services to children with special needs.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in social services, health education, social work, education, public health, or a related field, along with three years of supervisory experience. Preferred qualifications include case management or program coordination experience, First Aid and CPR certification, and a valid driver's license.

Skills and Abilities:

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to set and achieve goals, and effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats. Knowledge of early childhood development, family-centered care, and community health issues is highly desirable.

Work Environment:

This position requires travel within the designated counties and may involve working in various settings, including client homes. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality is crucial.
