At Arizona Public Service Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Legacy Program at the Palo Verde Generating Station. As a Mechanical Engineer in this program, you will be part of a comprehensive orientation training program that will last approximately 9 months. The Legacy Program is designed to provide new engineers with a combination of on-the-job training, rotations through various departments, technical classroom training, and briefings by subject matter experts.

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the analysis and preparation of data, technical reviews, and evaluations to aid decision-making. You will work closely with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are understood and that work scope meets customer requirements, budget, and schedule. Additionally, you will provide technical support within areas of specialty to internal staff and customers, identify potential problems, and troubleshoot corrective action plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the analysis and preparation of data, technical reviews, and evaluations to aid decision-making
  • Work closely with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are understood and that work scope meets customer requirements, budget, and schedule
  • Provide technical support within areas of specialty to internal staff and customers, identify potential problems, and troubleshoot corrective action plans
  • Participate in the preparation of business cases and operational plans to successfully implement proposed projects
  • Remain cognizant of current technology and engineering developments as well as industry and competitive developments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET accredited institution
  • Preferred: BS or above in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Welding Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Knowledge and ability to apply basic discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories
  • Use commonly applied engineering approaches and calculations
  • Problem analysis/resolution techniques
