Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System - 1 Genesys Pkwy, Ascension Genesys Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
  • Obtain additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
  • Prepare prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration to patients.
  • Review clinical data on requisition, analyze anatomical structure of patient, set up equipment, and assist Radiologist in performing procedures.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for the procedure.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
  • Replenish supplies as appropriate.
  • Assess patient condition before, during, and following procedures.
  • Control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information.
  • May assist with training of new personnel and/or students.
  • Perform imaging procedures while demonstrating radiation protection principles.
  • Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
  • Complete study indexing and confirm with Radiologist clinical protocols.
  • Demonstrate Team Member Standards of Excellence including AIDET, open communication, and responding in a timely manner.
  • Perform Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate.
  • Document in medical record as necessary.
