Job Description

The Barton Group is seeking an experienced Field Operations Director to lead our teams across all locations.

This critical role is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and optimization of all field operations, ensuring timely and professional installations, fostering strong customer relationships, and maximizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Field Superintendents and FSRs. Cultivate a culture of excellence, accountability, and customer focus. Recruit, hire, and train high-performing FSRs.
  • Operational Excellence: Continuously analyze and improve field operations to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Implement best practices and standardized procedures for pre- and post-construction walkthroughs, installer management, and communication protocols.
  • Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control measures throughout the installation process, ensuring adherence to company standards and customer expectations. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any concerns.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, construction superintendents, and homeowners, ensuring effective communication and proactive problem resolution.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal departments, including sales, design, and production, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Performance Management: Establish clear performance expectations, track progress, and conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery across field operations.
  • Project Management: Oversee the execution of field operations to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and manage field operations budgets, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing costs.
  • Safety Compliance: Champion health and safety initiatives to ensure all field operations are conducted in a safe manner, in compliance with industry regulations.
Requirements:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction Management, or a related field.

A minimum of 7 years of experience managing field operations teams in the construction industry, with a focus on flooring and/or countertop installations preferred.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction processes, building codes, and installation best practices for flooring and countertops.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience.
