Radiation Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at a top-rated healthcare facility in California. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe administration of radiation treatments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Discuss and explain treatment plans to patients
  • Determine exact location to be treated
  • Administer radiation treatment safely, in consultation with oncology team
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain radiation machine
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during treatment
  • Ensure accurate delivery of treatment using medical imaging equipment
Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Radiation Therapist program
  • Minimum three years of current Radiation Therapist experience
  • Active unencumbered Radiation Therapist California state license
  • Completion of an AMA approved Radiation Therapy Program required
Skills and Abilities:
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise

A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.

Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
