Job Description

At Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic III P, we are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program, be currently certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant, and be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant by the State of Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting supervising physicians in the office, hospital, and first assisting in surgery.
  • Obtaining detailed medical histories, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and providing direct patient care to a specified patient population.
  • Writing routine admission, pre-operative, and post-operative orders.
  • Making daily rounds and post-operative follow-ups on hospitalized patients.
  • Performing hospital and emergency department consultations.
  • First assisting in surgery.
  • Performing patient evaluations and initiating treatment after consultation with attending physicians.
  • Applying and removing casts, splints, and traction.
  • Writing discharge orders and dictating discharge summaries for review and countersignature by attending physicians.
  • Notifying supervising physicians or attending physicians on call regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation.
  • Practicing safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Supervising and/or coordinating the activities of patient care and support staff within the office.
  • Writing and dictating progress notes on patients' charts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed; maintaining other records as required.
  • Providing health education to patients and families.
  • Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • May perform clinical research.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
