Senior Automation Engineer

The Senior Automation Engineer is a key member of the Dorsett Controls team, responsible for leading the development and implementation of automation solutions for water and wastewater treatment processes. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful implementation of automation projects, including the development of engineering processes and tool sets.
  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to identify business opportunities and develop solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve automation processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, development, or related roles, with a strong background in SCADA systems, PLC programming, and HMI software.
  • Skills: Excellent technical, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and ability to pass government background check for restricted area access.
