Job Overview

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the efficient movement of materials within the facility. This position involves the handling of various materials, including raw inputs, work-in-progress items, and finished products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Movement: Transport materials to and from different areas such as raw, work-in-progress, finished goods, shipping, and receiving zones.
  • Loading and Unloading: Manage the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring materials are verified against shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Inventory Management: Accurately document material movements within the Inventory Management System to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Support Inventory Accuracy: Conduct warehouse cycle counts and address discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Organize and condense warehouse space while maintaining cleanliness and order.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and encourage a culture of safety among peers.
  • Quality Improvement: Engage in activities aimed at enhancing quality and productivity.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with maintenance tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Effective Communication: Relay necessary information to relevant team members to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Recycling Initiatives: Lead efforts in recycling materials such as pallets and cardboard.
  • 5S Practices: Participate in daily housekeeping activities to uphold 5S standards.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Commitment to safety as a core value and ability to model safe practices.
  • Strong focus on service and quality, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on open communication and collaboration.
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge, demonstrating flexibility and dependability.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly in inventory tracking systems.
  • Capability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
