General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a talented Sheetmetal Mechanic to join our team at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret construction drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Complete work assignments using company drawings, technical manuals, and shop machinery
  • Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install light gage metalwork, including air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, and prefabricated bulkheads
  • Perform joiner work and fabricate nonstructural bulkhead doors and stainless steel trim
  • Work in restricted and confined spaces

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience or relevant training
  • Ability to work all shifts
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperature conditions
  • Individuals must possess their own basic hand tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sheetmetal/metal fabrication experience and/or sheetmetal training
  • Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment
  • Vocational, technical, and community college education or apprentice programs
  • Military/Navy experience
  • Automotive/auto body or HVAC experience
