Job Summary:

Lhoist North America is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering shipments in a safe and timely manner, operating and maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver shipments in a safe and timely manner, adhering to DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including trucks and trailers, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Analyze and evaluate work conditions, making adjustments to equipment as necessary to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform equipment inspections in accordance with DOT requirements and make minor repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, TCEQ, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Train and educate local contractors on the safe handling of quicklime/slurry and emergency medical procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with contractors, promoting cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
  • Mathematical skills for basic calculations.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, fleet equipment, and excellent fleet mechanical skills.
  • Ability to maneuver fleet equipment in heavy city traffic and remote job locations.
  • Maintain concentration, alertness, and attention to detail for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to resolve issues with limited supervision.
  • Work shift work, seven days a week, including holidays, and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Ability to work out of town/out-state temporary assignments.
  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions and exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust.
  • Access all areas within a site, including heights of 50 feet, confined spaces, and climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
