About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the UHS team as a Staff Accountant, responsible for assisting with the completion of month-end close, cost reports, budgets, and governmental reports. As a key member of the accounting team, you will interact with facility CEOs and CFOs, facility Business Office Managers, corporate personnel, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete month-end close for assigned facilities, including monthly account reconciliations.
- Assist the Regional Financial Director in the review of month-end close and help reconcile problem accounts.
- Assist in the completion of cost reports.
- Assist facility Administrators and accounting personnel on accounting-related questions and problems.
- Assist facilities in development and maintenance of the APC/DOI reports and completion of state and federal reports.
- Perform special projects for Administrators, Regional Financial Directors, and Regional Vice Presidents.
- Assist in the completion of work papers assigned for external audits as well as work with auditors on any audit-related issues.
- Assist Regional Financial Director in the preparation of the annual budget for all assigned facilities, including annual tax packages.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all required reports and accounting data to meet applicable financial deadlines.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and 3-5 years of experience as a staff accountant.
